Marlin and Laurie Detweiler

President and Founder – Marlin Detweiler


Marlin is the husband of Laurie and the father of four grown sons. He and his wife have been involved in many aspects of classical Christian education for more than twenty years – including founding The Geneva School in Orlando, Florida, and Veritas Academy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Marlin is a permanent board member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools and frequent writer and speaker on classical Christian education. He and Laurie began Veritas Press from their home in order to share the tools they developed for educating their own children with other, like-minded parents.

Executive Vice President and Co-Founder – Laurie Detweiler

Laurie is the wife of Marlin Detweiler and the mother of four grown children. She has been involved in classical Christian education for over twenty years and coauthored the Veritas Press History and Bible Curriculum and the Phonics Museum. She has homeschooled her own children over the years and been involved in the founding of two classical Christian schools: The Geneva School, Orlando, Florida, and Veritas Academy, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Anyone who knows her will tell you she LOVES books and LOVES children.

Carl Petticoffer

Vice President of Operations – Carl Petticoffer

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of our retail books and publishing divisions, Carl Petticoffer manages customer service, catalog production, eCommerce, distribution, and publishing of our own educational titles. Carl brings order to our rapidly growing operations. In addition Carl greatly enjoys using his editing skills for publishing projects. Carl and his wife have two grown children.

Thom Scott

Vice President of Marketing – Thom Scott

A twenty five year veteran of marketing, Thom's background includes leadership positions in a variety of posts, including ad agency Creative Director and Vice President of Marketing for a public company. Thom and his wife have six homeschooled children.
