Omnibus is a Latin term meaning "all encompassing." Our purpose is to have students grow in their appreciation of the unity of all knowledge---all disciplines are related to and under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
This one-of-a-kind program begins with the student text and teacher CD-ROM. We have hired numerous experts to lead you through the study of the great works from antiquity, teaching with the emphasis on ideas, not simply information. This well-thought-out, manageable tool, with daily lesson plans, will make teaching and interacting with the greatest works of Western Civilization both enjoyable and profitable. With Trinitarian thinking at the core of the study, students will learn to interact with timeless material in a wise and godly way. In Omnibus I students will cover history, literature and theology from the dawn of time to the fall of Rome. They will also apply and further develop their skills in composition, logic and aesthetics. Students completing all six years of Omnibus will have carefully studied every book of the Bible, too. The student text assigns the readings in the primary and secondary books for each semester. We have gathered these books into discounted kits. The primary reading covers books that the student will interact with most. Papers, tests, field trips, etc. will generally be more geared to the primary books. Secondary reading is not necessarily less important, but it is given less emphasis.
Many books not included in the "semester packages" should be considered, too. We encourage you to select them based on the needs and interests of your students and the expertise of the teacher.
