Marlin and Laurie Detweiler

  

President and Founder – Marlin Detweiler


Marlin is the husband of Laurie and the father of four grown sons. He and his wife have been involved in many aspects of classical Christian education for more than twenty years – including founding The Geneva School in Orlando, Florida, and Veritas Academy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Marlin served as a founding and permanent board member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools for 22 years. He frequently writes and speaks on classical Christian education. He and Laurie began Veritas Press from their home in order to share the tools they developed for educating their own children with other, like-minded parents.

Executive Vice President and Co-Founder – Laurie Detweiler

Laurie is the wife of Marlin Detweiler and the mother of four grown children. She has been involved in classical Christian education for over twenty years and coauthored the Veritas Press History and Bible Curriculum and the Phonics Museum. She has homeschooled her own children over the years and been involved in the founding of two classical Christian schools: The Geneva School in Orlando, Florida, and Veritas Academy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Anyone who knows her will tell you she LOVES books and LOVES children.

 

Vice President of Curriculum Development – Carl Petticoffer

Carl Petticoffer manages development of new curriculum, along with maintaining and updating existing curriculum.  He oversees catalog production, eCommerce, distribution, and publishing of our own educational titles. Carl brings order to our rapidly growing operations. In addition Carl greatly enjoys using his editing skills for publishing projects. Carl and his wife have two grown children.

   

Vice President of Educational Services - Bob Cannon

As Vice President of Educational Services, Dr. Bob Cannon serves as the Headmaster of Veritas Scholars Academy. He has served in senior administrative roles in a number of diverse institutions in higher education, taught leadership disciplines at the graduate level in several colleges, and served as a K-12 Principal in a charter school setting. He and his wife Carrie homeschool their seven children and reside in the countryside of Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Brandon Detweiler             

Director of Marketing - Brandon Detweiler

Brandon's knowledge and experience in classical education is extensive as he played a critical role in the development of much of the Veritas curriculum as one of the "test students" over the years. After pursuing a career in Golf, Brandon now serves as the Director of Marketing at Veritas Press where he seeks to impact the lives of millions by generating interest and awareness of the true benefits of a classical education from a Biblical worldview and how it can prepare children for life.
